…TO KEEP FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE AND EQUALITY

We’d also like to share some petitions to sign and organisations to support that are doing wonderful work. Signing online petitions or learning about or even sharing the work of organisations does not require a lot of time. You can easily do it from wherever you are, whenever you have 5 minutes to raise your voice against injustice and violence, and support others actively fighting for equality.

Local organisations to learn about and support:

Schwarze Frauen Community is an initiative of black women* of different origins and nationalities, which together promotes and supports self-confidence, self-determination and self-organization of black women, children and adolescents. It’s a platform and organisation for black women* to share their experiences and get support through offering different programs, workshops and events.

Black Lives Matter Vienna, is just as official as Black Lives Matter as a platform to fight racism especially against the black community. They organise demonstrations and share ways to help and support the black community in Vienna.

Black People in Vienna is a community platform for black people in Vienna. They connect and help the black community establish a network, to share experiences and organise events. Afro Rainbow Austria (ARA) is the first organisation by and for LGBTQI + migrants from African countries in Austria. The organisation provides a platform for visibility, communication and change by offering different activities and events.

Radio Afrika is an organisation for integration and development through journalism.Founded in 1997 with the aims of connecting the African diaspora in Austria and providing fair information about the African continent. Over the years, it diversified its media activities, developing newspapers (today’s “Afrika Magazine“), TV programs, and continuously expanding its audience in Austria and beyond.
