Not sure what you can be doing to help others in these strange times? Here’s a list of petitions I think are important.
Here they are summarized. All you have to do is click and sign (if you agree!)
#LeaveNoOneBehind:
Calling on the European Commission and on EU governments to ensure the following:
Evacuation of the overcrowded refugee camps
Safe accommodation for migrants
Necessary quarantine and protective measures against coronavirus implemented everywhere, including refugee camps
Access to medical care for the homeless, refugees and all others
Humanitarian and financial support for the most affected areas, especially Greece
Access to asylum procedures and unconditional defence of the rule of law, including in times of crisis
Grundeinkommen durch die Corona-Krise.
Einführung eines bedingungslosen Grundeinkommens durch die Coronakrise in Österreich.
Say no to the abortion ban in Poland.
While the rest of the world is fighting Coronavirus, Poland is (yet again) trying to pass a legislation that would ban abortion and criminalize sexual education. We cannot go out onto the streets, but you can voice your protest by signing this petition.
Save childcare facilities
in Vorarlberg from closing down. Support them in asking the state of Vorarlberg to replace the contributions that will no longer come in during the quarantine.
Black Lives Matter
Urge the government to collect and release demographic data on the coronavirus. The impact of bias in systemic racism, economic inequality, and mass incarceration experienced by the Black community becomes clearer than ever during a global pandemic.
Support music artists
in their call for basic fairness in the digital marketplace - calling on Google, YouTube, Facebook, and other major online corporations to immediately establish standard technical measures to reduce copyright infringement in order to create a more sustainable online music ecosystem that sustains culturally diverse production and promotes economic development and small and medium-size enterprises.
Just a reminder to sign the below petitions as well - from our interview with Anna-Laura Schreilechner in the Improper Dose edition no. 2:
