B: Who are you?

I am Lissa (Lisstn), studied psychology and sociology at Uni Wien but also into photography and vinyls. My favorite time to take pictures is just before sunset, when the sun is really deep and you can see the play of light and shadows at the top of high buildings.

I love carrots. My guilty pleasure: James Blunt - Goodbye my lover.

B: What is/was your normal, “pre-corona” routine as a DJ?

Probably annoying my neighbours and roommates in the first place, because I am listening to the same track over and over again. Also really loud. Sometimes playing in clubs or bars as Werk and Celeste and connecting with other artists and djs in town or planning some events. Oh and dancing. And if there is money, reinvesting in vinyls.

B: How has the self-isolation changed it and why did you embrace the idea of solitude (and create Quarantiert Tanzen - the set for “dancing on your own”) instead of joining live group sessions online?

There is a lot of space now. Calm. That means I can just listen to what is there. It’s Me. The first thought coming to my mind, when I recorded the tape was, that I love dancing on my own. Sometimes a hard one in a club. It is not lonely, the solitude gives chance to focus on yourself and to embrace it. I think sometimes the continuous input of interactions and infos and impressions and stimuli suppresses output because there is no processing anymore. When there is nothing to come in, you have to do it yourself.

Maybe that’s why I found the courage to also finally produce my first track (Unbenannt 260320).

B: Where can we find your music?
