SCREENING: HOUSE by Marin Shamov

HOUSE is a film about a queer*trans feminist community house consisting of ten people and more who have chosen to live together and share non-hierarchical, queer*feminist, antiracist, and anticapitalist views. The House that under one roof has brought together people with migrant and activist backgrounds who moved to Vienna because of hostile political regimes, war, and economic dispossession in their countries.

Marin Shamov (they/them) is a visual, performance and dance artist; teacher and trans*queer activist based in Vienna. Marin works with performative and somatic approaches, building their artistic practice through their experience in activism in public space, psychoanalysis, social work, and pedagogy. They received a diploma in contemporary dance and pedagogy in 2013, a master’s degree in choreography in 2015, and completed the School of Involved Art in 2017, Saint-Petersburg. In 2024, they completed an exchange semester at the KHiO in Oslo. They are currently studying a performative arts class at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
