LECTURE-PERFORMANCE: People's Workout: The Fight for Space & Sport

The habitational crisis is felt throughout European cities. However, not only are homes at risk, but also places to practice sport. The commodification of exercise or the lack of public infrastructure investment makes it necessary to create places of resistance. This performance is about one of these places of resistance, and what does it mean that sport is political.

Pedro del Real Lavergne (Barcelona, 1990) does many things related to words: lecture-performances, cartoons, and writing. His main interests lie in digitalia, sci-fi, hidden history, and radical politics. Living in Vienna since 2014, he has participated in different artistic projects in the city, combining these with his salary work at a research institution, building a family composed currently of 4 members, and political activism in his neighborhood.

The event is a part of the Fragile Foundations: Art, Mental Health, and Housing Precarity public program. Supported by MA7, BMWKMS, and the 15th District.
