IMPROPER READING is a series of events dedicated to the act of reading itself. An action, which is according to Paulo Freire, seen as part of a wider process of human development and growth based on understanding both one's own experience and the social world.

IMPROPER READING - is a carefully curated selection of texts related to the current exhibition (IMPROPER EXPOSURE) we host in our gallery space.

To promote comprehension, we invite improper readers to meet and have a conversation about the texts they read.

We assure a safe space where all opinions and ideas are respected and all questions are valid. With no obligation to be an active participant in the conversation circle, everyone is welcome to join the club of improper readers.

To boost accessibility, we curate reading material both in English and German. The texts are announced in our monthly IMPROPER DOSE newsletter and, at request, provided by email.
