Dear 2023, let us hover for a bit in the transformative space between the dying old and emerging new reality…

Reflecting upon the reminder that new beginnings are brought about necessarily via endings, I want first to thank everyone who got involved with us over time, experimented with us during the pandemic, and later, when the Dose became an established part of our practice, let us share their creations on a regular basis, as well as all of you reading them. After almost three years and 25 editions, Improper Dose undergoes another transformation and, from now on, will appear in your mailboxes only quarterly, perhaps dressed differently and with an aspiration of giving you a deeper insight into the topics we work with in our public program.

But before that happens, take the last Dose of 2022:

This time, we start with an intriguing dissection of the Iranian dessert, Sholé Zard, in support of the Iranian Feminist Revolution. Besides the food for thought, the author, Bita Bell, invites you to re-create the dish and share an image of the result with her and our community. (Pictures can be submitted via email — direct link in the article on the website). Lorena Tabares Salamanca then closes the cycle of reflections on the residency Migratory Anthropocene in the spirit of "Symbiocene accelerated: the reverse of the Capitalocene at hundreds of terrestrial translations." Pedro del Real offers a philosophical take on Mr. Lemon's appearance, and we finish with Eva Balayan's memories of what feels now like a previous life.

See you in spring!
