FEELINGS

We contacted artists who are also members of our advisory board and asked them to share how they feel now.

- Andrea Zapanta Scharf. illustrator and gif-maker

- Justas Pranevičius, painter

It felt like I needed something like this to slow down and take time to think over a lot of things and come back to myself. It’s as if someone pressed pause on the world for me.
Right now, alongside finishing some older projects I’ve started a new large format painting series called “love”. I wasn’t doing much of very personal work before, but felt it’s quite the right time to ride some emotional roller coasters through painting.
Even though the current fucked up reality became a normality for me really fast and I try to get the best out of the situation, I hope it won’t take ages and I can hug the shit out of everybody soon 🖤

- Markus Tozzer, artist

Shortly before the virus outbreak I started this quick and rough self portrait of myself forcing brushes into my skull. Because my approach to painting is very intuitive I sometimes need time to recognize the meanings in my works after finishing them. In this work I put a glove around my left hand which surprised me at the time because there was no relation between the glove and my life. I decided to keep it anyway. Now of course it can be seen as a prediction.
