Reading and reflection of two essays by Frantz Fanon, whose teaching was central in the development of the “Fanonian Quilts”—one of the artworks currently on display as part of the Outskirts of Care exhibition. The discussion will be moderated by Frida Robles, the artist, curator, and author of “Fanonian Quilts.”
The event is free of charge and open to everyone. Prior reading of the texts is not required.
Frida Robles is an artist and curator. Her artistic practice has varied from public art installations to performances to textual work. Her most recent performance, "Sessions with Frida. A performance on the possibilities of healing," was constructed around a psychoanalysis session on stage. She is a PhD candidate at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and currently teaches at the Theater, Film and Media Studies at the Vienna University.
This event is part of the Outskirts of Care public program, an exhibition by Frida Robles and Nisrine Boukhari currently on view until June 1.
Supported by 15. Bezirk, MA7 and BMKOES. The project “Fanonian Quilts” is organized in collaboration with Fabrikraum and supported by Amaaena, Erika Farina and Klasse Für Alle.
